Redwood episode recap

the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team investigates the murder of a high school girl named Melissa, whose body is found in the woods near her school.
The team discovers that Melissa was a popular student who had a secret relationship with a married man, who is a suspect in her murder. As they investigate further, they also discover a dark underbelly of high school cliques and bullying.

Meanwhile, Patrick Jane (played by Simon Baker) becomes personally involved in the case when he learns that his daughter’s former boyfriend, who was also a high school classmate of Melissa’s, may be involved in her murder. He works with Agent Teresa Lisbon (played by Robin Tunney) to uncover the truth and protect his daughter from harm.

As the investigation progresses, the team discovers that Melissa’s murder was actually committed by her own best friend, who was jealous of her relationship with the married man. They also uncover a larger conspiracy involving the high school principal, who was covering up incidents of bullying and sexual assault.
In the end, the team is able to bring the killer and the principal to justice, and Jane is able to confront his daughter’s former boyfriend about his involvement in Melissa’s murder.

The episode ends with Jane reflecting on the importance of family and the dangers of secrets and lies.
