Lamb asks Nikolai about Cicada
Lamb is trying to find out what happened to Dickie Bow. and is following the trails that lead him to Cicada. He Sneaks up on Nikolai Katinsky, the only person that might have the answer he is looking for, but will he take anything out of Nikolai Katinsky?
Who is Nicolai Katinsky?
He is a former KGB spy and 20 years ago he said something about Cicadas in his debriefing, and Lamb is interested in learning everything about that and has high expectations, but will he unveil the truth behind Cicadas?
Nikolai Tells Lamb everything he knows about Cicada
Nikolai tells he heard Popov’s plans for the Cicadas, wait for it…While he was in the bathroom. Of course, that lamb was expecting more, he didn’t see their faces, but recognized one of them as Andrei Chernistky and he told Lamb he looked like a killer, and from a distance, he looked like “a big bold bull “
And Lamb thinks that Andrei matches the description of the person who killed Dickie Bow.
Lamb tells Taverner he wants to keep investigating Dickie Bow’s death
Lamb negotiates with Diana for an operating fund to continue working on the Dickie Bow’s case.
Diana asks Webb why he’s using the slow horses and suggests that he could go to the slough house if the slow horses misbehave in the mission he arranged.
River finds the Upshott flying club
Meanwhile, River tracks down the taxi driver who supposably drove the killer.
The taxi driver asks River to outbid the money he was paid by the killer to tell nobody the location he was left. River pays him about 240£
After that, the greedy taxi driver takes River to the spot where he left the killer. It’s Upshott flying club.
Then he asks Roddy to trace the killer’s phone number and they trace it to Estonia.
Lamb gives river new ID documents, and the name is Jonathon Walker.
He reveals that Cicada was a “term used for a sleeper on the dark side of the war”
Min and Louisa meet with Arkady Pashkin Security.
The meeting is somewhat funny, yet a little awkward.
After the meeting, Min follows the security on his bike but ends up being noticed by them. By the way, Min is a terrible spy, maybe that’s why he ends up in the slough house.
He brags to Louisa that he wasn’t spotted, but we all know how bad a spy he is, but that’s what makes the Min character so special to the story.
They argue about work and Min as usual doesn’t show much interest in being professional and goes to meet his son Lucas, but he postpones it.
He spies again the securities and enters a dark street and he is captured with a gun pointed at the head
Final thoughts
The episode was exciting. Everything around the Cicadas created that suspense that makes Slow horses so interesting. It even made Lamb that in the first season didn’t move a finger or his foot from the top of the desk, and now he is so committed to finding who killed Dickie Bow. It all makes me think that in fact, Lamb has something that meets more than the eye can see. I don’t believe that Dickie Bow doesn’t have anything special to Lamb. Maybe, there was something dark that involved Lamb and Dickie that might put Lamb in the line of fire. But this all is speculation.
At the end of the episode, Min was captured. What will happen to him, and why didn’t Louisa pick up the phone when he called her?
