Appendectomy went wrong
The episode starts at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital, Atlanta.
Dr. Bell is in the middle of an appendectomy surgery and the other doctors start taking selfies while they are distracted. The hands of Dr. Bell start shaking like he has some kind of disease that incapacitates him from doing precise surgeries. Meanwhile, the patient starts to wake up and he moves. Dr. Bell can’t control his hands and hit an artery and the patient dies within seconds.
Then Dr. Bell tries to cover his hand’s problem and pins the fault on the anesthetist. But they all saw what happened and decide to lie and make up a story that he had a heart attack due to antecedents in the family.
Devon Pravesh First Day
Today was Devon Pravesh’s first day, he is excited to meet Dr. Randolf Bell.
Then finds Dr. Hawkins, who tries to break Devon telling him that he’s not a real doctor, and if he doesn’t do what he tells him to do, he will remove him.
Devon’s first patient
Hawkins tells Devon to put his finger on his anus because there’s no time to do the normal procedure.
Devon gets angry at Hawkins and doesn’t want to continue working with him, and tries to be reassigned, but Nic convinces him otherwise.
Second patient
Devon has a patient with diabetes who developed gangrene in his foot and when he touches it, the toe falls off.
Third patient
He saves the life of a drug addict that went unconscious but against Conrad telling him to give up and then she goes into brain dead state.
The Girl’s patient mother thanks Devon for saving her daughter without knowing that she is brain dead and will never wake up, Nic tells Devon that:” medicine isn’t practiced by saints, its a business.”
Conrad finds his appendectomy patient died
Hawkins is in a relationship with Nic but doesn’t appear to be official. He also has a tattoo on his back that says:” Death before dishonor”.
Nic tells Hawkins that his appendectomy patient died, and when Conrad asks what happened, she said “HODAD happened”.
HODAD means:” Hands of Death and Destruction”.
Conrad asks Dr. Bell what happened with his patient.
Dr. bell threatens him to not whistleblow about what happened.
There’s a code blue and Hawkins throws ice on the patient and saves her, but Dr. Bell takes the credit for it.
Chastain’s new machine Titian
Dr. bell presents an operation machine and nicknamed it the “Hand of God” or Titian.
Mina has been training with the titian machine for months and is ready to operate, but Dr. Bell’s patient doesn’t want Mina to operate him. He wants Dr. Bell to operate.
Mina gets blackmailed by Bell
Dr. Bell tells Mina that there were changes in who will operate and she tells him that he is not prepared to do the surgery, and he blackmails her that if she doesn’t do what h wants, will not help her get a visa and she will be deported.
Dr. Mina decides to teach Dr. Bell to operate the machine, but he can’t master it.
Conrad tries to expose Bell
Hawkins gets an audience to watch Dr. Bell do a Titian operation.
The surgery is going fine and Hawkins doughts Dr. Bell’s abilities and checks that it’s Dr. Mina who is doing the surgery but Dr. Bell is faking it to look like it’s him doing the surgery.
End of Devon’s first day
Devon finishes his day and Conrad shows him a picture of a little girl that died because he gave her too much potassium in his first year.
Conrad tries to turn off the patient life support machine but Nic enters the room and he stops doing it.
